Here is my 99 Honda Civic hatch. Stock for the most part as of now, havent had the car very long. Eibach Sportline Springs, LS Mesh wheels painted flat black. Thats it for right now, trying to decide which way to go with the motor. Have changed my mind so many times now! lol. Here are the pics! This is when I still had the red stripe on the wheels... And when I first got the car...

Yeah, I had to get this car when I saw how clean it was. It only has about 70k on it right now. I plan on keeping it as clean as I can, so many people go the opposite way and totally destroy the cars.

Thats one clean EK hatch you got there man But if I could sway you a little on the motor decision: My votes for all motor K series, you'll still be able to daily it and take it to time attack and autoX events and be very competitive. Especially since your already heading in a good direction with the suspension and chassis components you've added. Heres one of our shop cars, its an all motor K-series drag car: Mind you its in Utah.......where elevation is about 4200ft. above sea level!!! In Cali we should easily pull high 10's!!! Oh yeah and might I add that this car is 100% street legal!!!

K20 is definitely a well proven engine, but it all depends on the ultimate goal of the car as well. Other more common and cheaper engines can be built for good power, without dealing with much added weight to the front of the car. The K20 weighs in around 275 lbs. Which when compared to the stock sohc is a good amount added. Certain year B16s will only weight in about 10-15 lbs more than the stock sohc from what I recall. But it definitely is no K20, but once again all comes down to application.

No it is not my shop, but I am an employee there. There are only 4 guys that work there, 2 of witch are brothers and also the owners. The 4th employee is a real good friend of ours, that we knew from way back in the day. Were all just a group of real good friends, that went from street racing to professional drag racing....we all gotta grow up someday! K20 is definitely a well proven engine, but it all depends on the ultimate goal of the car as well. Yeah honestly to tell you the truth for time attack and autoX all you need is a SOHC motor. Because in those types of racing its all in the technique, rather than having butt loads of power. **For the B-series: LS/VTEC is also a very stout motor that can be had for a lot less money than a K-series. **For the D-series: D16A6/mini-me is the strongest and best set up to be had for cheap. The reason for me using older model blocks, and newer heads. Is due to the fact that the older blocks are considerably stronger than there newer counterparts. As for the heads its vise versa, the newer heads are much better flowing and all around better design then the older heads.
